Two seemingly unrelated stories-one in words, the other in pictures-come together with spellbinding synergy.

The illustrated story begins in with Billy Marvel, the lone survivor of a shipwreck, and charts the adventures of his family of actors over five 4/5. The Marvels is an amazing journey through imagination and time. As with his other books, Brian Selznick combines incredible art with prose to craft a story unlike any other.

Some people have complained that more than the first half of the book is illustration only (no words), but I /5(). It pains me to say this, but Marvels by far outranks Kingdom Come. The story in Marvels is essentially a history of Marvel Comics, told through the eyes of a civilian who follows the evolution of the Marvel superheroes.

It is freaking fantastic!. So, if you are into comic books like me, I highly recommend buying this book/5(). Here is the book trailer that I made for The Marvels.
